Pros

League City location is convenient

Cons

The decor is not updated and the same applies to their technology. The systems are always down. If it's raining the systems are slow and or down. But management expects work to be done despite our technical lapse. An outside company needs to clean house. Only a fresh new management team can change the poor employee moral.

Pros

American National provides three months of generous paid training which allows new agents to become familiar with the industry, American National's products, American National's procedures, and American National's applications. The agent advance agreement (AAA) is fair because it is designed to allow award agents with a consistent amount of compensation on a month to month basis. There is also the honor roll bonus which awards additional compensation per month for agents that validate their goals, and a deferred/qualified sign on bonus for qualified agents wishing to stay with American National. The team is also very helpful. It is very convenient to reach a point of contact whether that someone is from the underwriting team, the marketing team, or the training team, the point of contact almost always responds to an email promptly. I am very satisfied with the level of service that American National's team of representatives has provided. American National also has alliances with other companies. If the risk is ineligible through American National, we can rely on our brokers to insure almost any risk. American National also awards generous marketing points so that new agents have sufficient American National branded marketing material to distribute.

Cons

At first I was dissatisfied with the American National's technology. The agent websites seemed outdated, the software we use seems older, our mobile application is only available for Apple devices, our marketing imagery seemed out of date. In comparison to what other large captive companies are doing with their technology, I thought American National would have leaps and bounds to make to catch up. However American National is making those leaps and bounds. American National has recently designed a resourceful online marketing dashboard. We have new and improved agent websites, and we are undergoing a revamp of American National's brand. It's all very exciting as I can tell American National is putting forth a great amount of effort to bring forth a strong captive brand for this modern environment.

Pros

Hours are decent. Always have holidays off. Normal corporate benefits.

Cons

Super expensive benefits for an insurance company. They self insure so it's basically a rip off. No room for growth. Totally female driven company. Hr is ran by a group of blondes who don't know anything about insurance. Outside applicants are treated better than internal. If I didn't need the paycheck, I'd leave before finishing this sentence.
