Pros

It's a relaxed working environment. There are many opportunities to learn about different job functions and how a non-profit organization functions. There are diversity inclusion days, and social events for the employees. You would be helping the community. I had many opportunities to interact with people and talk to victims of local disasters.

Cons

I worked for one of the branches of Red Cross and it is relatively small. We had trouble getting volunteers, and the lack of volunteers affected our work. Resources are limited too, so there are limited funds for the organization to spend on its office facilities.

-This position has a great purpose and cause

Cons

-Poorly managed -Horrible communication within the departments -Constant conflict between collection staff and donor requirment department -Completely unorganized -If there were issues or problems no one took responsibility for their mistakes -Mislead in interview -Work many nights and weekends -Upper management is consistently changing -Collection staff has very poor customer service and it was just accepted. No consequences to their actions

The mission is compelling, the work is fulfilling, and the leadership is outstanding. I am incredibly proud to work here.

Cons

There always appears to be an issue in getting donations to the organization when disasters aren't happening. I wish there was more of an effort to capture the public interest when things are going well, instead of when disaster strikes.
