Production factor trumps everything

Pros

Financially very sound. Rarely worked for a company that is run this well from a financial sense. Environment is ever changing, lots of opportunities for those willing to dig and find them. Employer would always make sure you had the tools to get the job done Lots of fun activities if you're actually in the office. Xmas bonus is $500 x years of service. Always a good thing.

Cons

Forced to get training and certifications for partnerships that never panned out while working there, and forced to pay it back when you left. Management was rude, and only concerned with the bottom line. Your team's production factor was always paramount. (Amount billed, minus expenses and salary =Production factor) This determined bonuses, if any. Salary was based upon 300 hours of overtime per year. If you can get your clients to agree to the time. If I couldn't find more work for me to do, I made less at many better jobs I've had before and since. I had to take a second job at one point to keep up with bills. Raises were a joke. Management plays favorites, and it's well known who they are. HR turns a blind eye to just about every internal problem, but don't meet a client's expectations (Even slightly so ) End up on probation. Prepare yourself to kiss a lot of behind. PTO is NOT paid out upon termination (nature of termination doesn't matter)

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we appreciate your approval of the company's financial foundation. From the top down, the key to our business is our commitment not only to customer service, but to our staff. One of our core values is that we treat each other with respect, dignity and fairness and we strive to provide an environment where staff feel as such. It is unfortunate your experience with management was not within the vast majority of staff. In fact, our latest engagement survey shows 99% of staff feel their supervisors treat them fairly and with respect. Your comment regarding being forced to pay back training and certifications is just wrong. One of our other core values is that we are dedicated to the development of our staff and some of the ways we show this is by covering professional memberships, certifications and through our exam and tuition reimbursement programs. Lastly, regarding your non-payout of PTO comment, this is true that we do not pay out unused vacation time if people leave the company. This is something that is highlighted during new hire orientation and is also outlined in our employee handbook so it is never something we try to hide. By doing this, we encourage work/life balance so staff will actually use their vacation time and disconnect from the office rather than accumulate large amounts that go unused. If you recall from our benefits, we pay out unused personal leave to staff annually so one form of "PTO" is always paid out and we also offer the bonus vacation program in which staff can choose to have an extra week of vacation or be paid out the equivalency to a week's worth of vacation time. We believe that offering these two unique benefits to keep current staff happy are much more advantageous than simply paying out PTO if someone is leaving the company.
