      Employee Ownership a Key Feature

      Pros

      AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned company, with a great ESOP benefit. It holds quarterly events to promote the ESOP. Good health insurance and other benefits, including the option to purchase a portable long-term care policy. Online training, including quarterly ethical moments.

      Cons

      I didn't have any negative experiences with the company or have any criticisms worth sharing with the general public. To me, it was a good company to work for.

      Pros

      Their HR and program managers are top rate professionals who are concerned with helping you out and getting you on board.

      Cons

      The company is cheap! They do not add to your 401K plan. They have a profit sharing plan but you must work there for five year to be fully vested. Health plan is expensive and next year they will only offer high deductible health care. Salary was low for ISSE (68K). Holiday hours are given out at 18 hours a quarter so you run out of Holiday hours before all Holidays are taken in the first quarter! No support from front line manager.

      Cons

      No 401k matching. Some benefits are good for senior management not necessarily contractors. Contractors rarely stay with a company long term given the nature of the business. Although many would if they could.
