Pros

Without a college degree , I was able to earn well over $40,000 last year between my hourly pay of $13, commissions averaging $300-$400 a week, non-mandatory overtime, and the occasional bonus of $135 for answering 150-195 calls for weeks with high forcasted call volume. They offer other perks as well such as a 401k with a 100% company match for first 3% and 50% for next 2% which grows quickly without, an additional 4 hours of PTO for each month with perfect attendance, very flexible scheduling, decent dental and vision after 90 days that is inexpensive, as well as the ability to purchase "The Rolls Royce" of Nutraceuticals at a HUGE discount (My last order cost me $55 vs retail price of $240), the dress code is very relaxed with t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops being the outfit of choice this time of year. All of my co-workers seem to get along for the most part with some of us building friendships outside of work and , supervisors, call center managers, project managers, and even some VP's take an interest in their employees and show genuine concern if their agent is struggling. with a problem. In the commercial division you can make the pay rate listed above, but in the healthcare division the training you receive as well as 6 months to a year working for Ameridial will allow you to land a much better paying job working for a health insurance company, a mail order pharmacy,, a PBM, etc. The staffing specialists spend a lot of time and take into account a wide variety of factors such as personality, previous employment, ability to handle stress, etc while placing new hires in a position to try to retain the employees better. All and all, I enjoy my job at Ameridial. I've been here for three years and hope to be here for more!

Cons

I find it hilarious that healthcare division employees are well trained on what "good" or "fair" health insurance consists of and then Ameridial offers an outrageously priced plan with a $5000 deductible. When presenting the health insurance for 2015 (first year they had to) more time was spent talking about how to qualify for Medicaid or getting an exemption from the 2% penalty from being uninsured than actually explaining the health insurance. The facilities are poorly maintained as there is a urinal that has been broken since at least October, The building I work in was previously all commercial (sales) employees and we managed to carry ourselves in a semi-professional manner.. Now there is a healthcare project in this building who are incredibly unprofessional with entire rear ends hanging out of sagging sweatpants and talk of selling food stamps in the smoking area. These healthcare people need to go back to Higbee where they will be coddled and praised by "the assistant call center manager" while threatening employment of other agents for "not pausing, to track down and advise a team lead/supervisor that we were paused to use our 5 minutes per day of bathroom time and then documenting the amount of time that it took to find the team lead/supervisor on our downtime sheets and have them sign it" in an effort to eliminate abuse of bathroom use. You pay them for being sick: there is no paid sick time off, your "grade" for the week can't be any higher than a "B" which will cost you $100 on average, if you are sick enough to be hospitalized for several days prepare for your month;y attendance grade to drop from an "A" to a "B" which is a $2 per hour pay cut. STAY OUY OF HIGBEE!!!
