      Very state of the art computing environment, great opportunity to learn IT and programming skills that are in high demand. Better than average benefits.

      Cons

      Very political environment, competitive and back-stabbing, HR always sides with management. Doctors and psychologists in the area say that they have seen a significant increase over the years in the numbers of Amgen employees coming to them as patients needing treatment for job-related stress and depression.

      Pros

      The salary and benefits are excellent. The company claims to be helping people, but it really is interesting in maximizing profit. But then, all companies do this, it is not surprising.

      Cons

      The work environment is poor, and the opportunity for growth is limited. It is very hard to understand how what you are working on fits in with everything else that is going on. You will be surprised one day to find out that upper management doesn't know or care what you are working on.
