      Pros

      Smart people, challenging work, helping patients with grievous illnesses. Two one week shutdowns plus generous vacation time and flexible working arrangements (not in all departments)

      Cons

      Constant upheaval, lack of opportunity for advancement, global outsourcing creates inefficiencies, shareholder focus, workload

      Those in favor get promoted whether one works hard or not.

      Cons

      Those in favor get promoted only sometimes, whether they work hard or not. Accolades are not given within the Research and Development Dept.

      Pros

      The people who work there are great and the work is rewarding. The team environment is good and the teams were great to manage. The benefits are great and during the years I was there I had many opportunities to do different things and explore multiple roles. Up until early 2014 I would have rated the company 5 stars.

      Cons

      The company is undergoing significant changes and it is a difficult time to be in R&D, as the budget cutting is significant, particularly on the earlier (research, pre-phase 2) programs. In the last year that I was at the company there was a significant amount of change and it is not clear when that will settle down. With the restructuring and layoffs in the last few months there is a lot of negative energy at the company.
