Pros

The benefits are decent, although the PTO amount is rather low,

Cons

Everyone is so busy stabbing each other in the back they are too busy to actually get any work done. Advice form seasoned professional is completely ignored unless you in the clique. The company cannot get out of its own way to go in the right direction.

Pros

Benefits are good, the network and talent you work with is great. I met some very wonderful people while at Amgen and it is an excellent place to receive a crash course in pharma. The pay is good while not on par with many northern California pharma companies.

Cons

Stress levels are high, long term incentives try to hook you in to stay at the company, some very unpleasant egos in leadership. You can expect to do tasks far outside your role because of how lean the company is. There are unreasonable expectations placed on personnel by leadership and currently in Medical, objectives are not articulated well and slimming the organization and absorbing tasks into other roles seems to be met with a pat on the back for "efficiency". This really is a corporate company where you exchange hard work for money and that's it at the end of the day. D&I initiatives are talked about by leadership but hardly manifest in daily life at the company. Performative ally-ship at it's finest is what you'll find, but what do you expect in Thousand Oaks. Speaking from experience, if you are laid off, there is generous monetary consideration headed your way, but do not expect assistance from within HR or the company to find a new role within the company.

Pros

Some of the people genuinely care about patients.

Cons

Leadership severely lacking skills in how to manage and inspire people. Multiple departments all doing the same thing - redundant and frustrating. Lack of empathy for employees or care for individuals and their lives. Cut throat environment. Constant shuffling of roles and responsibilities deflating employees.
