Cons

I don't know where to start! Honestly, my experience at Amgen has been a disaster from the beginning. I've seen at least 12-18 Data Engineers, Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and even myself a Data Engineer being forced into software development roles. None of us were hired or interviewed for software development positions, and yet, we were pushed into it. It’s the worst decision the company could have made. It’s honestly frustrating to see the management completely miss the point. All of us were hired for AI, DE, DS, or ML roles, but now we’re being expected to perform tasks that aren’t even in our skill set. It’s not just difficult for us, it’s also making life harder for the entire company and associates. The work is disorganized, and nothing gets done efficiently. The worst part? Everyone’s planning to leave. I’m not the only one frustrated here. You can reach out to anyone working in AI/DE/DS/ML roles in Amgen India via LinkedIn and they will tell you the truth. Morale is at an all-time low, and it’s only a matter of time before people start quitting in large numbers. I genuinely believe that AIN is going to be one of the biggest disasters in the history of Amgen. It’s clear the management doesn’t know what they’re doing. If you want a developer, hire a developer. If you want a tester, hire a tester. Don’t make people's lives miserable by forcing them into roles they’re not qualified for. This entire experience has been a nightmare. On top of all this, I’ve seen other companies like Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, and Merck actively hiring. I’m not sure how their culture and growth will be, but I honestly believe it has to be better than rotting here. At least, there's a chance for a more aligned role that respects my skills and allows me to grow.
