Pros
Amtrak has a genuine team ethos. A big part of this is that the senior people are accessible humans. Other companies could learn a few things from them. In over three decades of engineering this is the best place to work I have known.
Cons
A big backlog of legacy problems caused by politicians. And the risk that politicians could wreck it all again
