Pros

One of the biggest pros of working at Amyx is how seriously the company takes professional development. There’s a very generous PD allowance — and more importantly, there’s real encouragement to use it. Since I joined, I’ve taken full advantage of it, earning my APMP, starting Shipley training, and joining our internal ACE (Amyx Career Enhancement) leadership program. I was also selected to participate in the Tetra Tech Leadership Academy, which was a huge opportunity made possible through our parent company. I didn’t come from the government contracting world — I came from education. But with support and mentorship every step of the way (from my PM, our VP, and even our COO), I’ve been able to grow quickly. I volunteered for anything I could — CMMI reviews, a Center of Excellence, the Human Capital Committee — and instead of being told “you’re not ready,” I was trusted, empowered, and given room to lead. Something else that really stands out is how much Amyx listens to feedback — from both employees and customers. This is a customer-first company, and that shows in how responsive we are. We’re constantly evolving with the industry and adapting our internal processes to meet changing needs. Especially during the ups and downs that come with DOGE or other major shifts, leadership has done a great job communicating clearly and helping teams adjust. That level of transparency makes a big difference. Lastly, I’ve received raises and bonuses along the way that have felt totally fair and motivating — especially as someone who came in with limited experience in this sector. If you're someone who takes initiative, thrives in a dynamic environment, and cares about doing meaningful work for real customers, Amyx will absolutely support you and help you grow.

Cons

-Fast-paced environment: If you’re not proactive or self-motivated, it may feel overwhelming. Amyx expects you to step up and take initiative. -Not for coasters: This isn’t a place to coast or wait for someone to hand you growth — the opportunities are there, but you have to pursue them.

Pros

Great work atmosphere. Not a job shop. Respect for the individual.

Cons

Not a lot of downside other than if large contracts end ... there may be layoffs as the needs of the business change. Amyx does all they can to avoid this situation.
