Pros

The only pro is work-life balance as there is very little work to do. Goof engineering talent.

Cons

In competent management, no new ideas. Most people have been there for too long and don;t do any work. Everyone acts busy but there are no results to show for it. Incompetent management at the top and middle manager level. Very unprofessional and exploitative. For those on H1B they will not file greencard till the fifth year. Corporate immigration is horrible and does everything to stall an employees career progress. Very difficult to change groups and roles within the company. Low pay and they can get away with it because they are located in the Greater Boston area where there are no other companies. Poor sales and marketing organizations. DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING IN YOUR CAREER.

Pros

If you look hard enough, you will find a person or two that makes your day a little bit better at the previously Maxim (now ADI) site in Beaverton.

Cons

This list is far too long to list all of it here. I have never been more stressed and mentally unwell than my time spent at Maxim/ADI. What others have said about management and “all talk” is completely true. There is a LOT of finger pointing. The culture at the Beaverton office is so toxic it’s repulsive. I felt like I was in middle school all over again. Additionally, this company has next to zero plans in place for onboarding and proper training of new hires. I basically freelanced my entire time with the company. When mentioning how unsettled this made me feel to my then boss, I was constantly told one thing, and then other things would happen. “Block out your calendar; protect your time from people stealing it from you”. “Oh I also need you do these other 19 things” (some of which had more immediate due dates). <— This was another large issue. They gave me, the new hire, the work of at least 3 qualified engineers…and then didn’t training me in the slightest on how to do any of it. Not even hardly taught me how to use their (garbage) document control system. Watched them fire many qualified people during my time here too. Ironically, their main form of training they did have for me was “go follow the qualified people around”. If you fire them all, then what boss? Smart. If you are considering taking this job at Maxim/ADI. Listen to me. You run far, and fast from this place. Go work at starbucks before you ever look in the direction of this place. I wish I left sooner.

Pros

Daily OT. Paid vacation. Food.

Cons

HR compliant was made regarding racial remarks made by coworker. HR said they would investigate. They concluded the best course of action was some reading material on how to be inclusive in a workplace though they claim to be "no tolerance" workplace. Bunch of fattys that eat all day in the office doing zip Tech 3s at the workplace couldn't perform basic PMs that tech 1s were expected to know and perform. Was told i could accrue as much OT i wanted, took that away, said there was a positive outlook, even though we had to use paid vacation over xmas on co wide shutdown. Claimed there wouldnt be Layoffs, even though they just cut people. Claim they have a downturn in customers but they have expanded the FAB, built additional FAB floor, as well as adding non necessary upgrades around campus all while retaining the bonuses for the superiors. 0 training. Got 1 wk classroom training and was expected to work around HF, gases. Upper ENGINEERS pawn off work, and go sit in the Cafe all day, and brag about it.
