Pros

Strong referral culture—you can recommend qualified friends for opportunities.

Cons

Darkest chapter in AP history! The new CFO pushed out valuable tenured accounting leaders to make room for his old colleagues from HBO. The irony is that the eliminated old guards were asked to work as consultants to train his loyal yet incapable old friends. The difference between a happy working family and a toxic workplace is a selfish CFO driven by favoritism and politics.

Pros

- Potential for growth if you get an ok manager - Work is interesting - AP is positioned well in the industry

Cons

- Leadership is weak; director+ level has no direction - Management can be backstabbing and often clearly plays favorites - Little to no accountability for actions taken by leadership, blame often pushed to lowest man on totem pole - AP likes to angle themselves as tech forward which is not the case. Computers are incredibly slow, software is created in-house and is incredibly buggy - Pressure to produce results as fast as possible, resulting in corners cut which shouldn't be cut. Results aren't accurate and made to make client happy.

Pros

The company fosters a positive and inclusive culture with a strong sense of community. Many employees build lasting personal and professional relationships. The organization also hosts numerous well-organized, enjoyable events throughout the year, including cultural celebrations, happy hours, off-site team-building activities, and trivia nights. Overall, the company makes a genuine effort to ensure employees feel valued and included.

Cons

Work-life balance can vary significantly depending on the project, which is common in client-facing or consulting firms. While many analysts experience manageable workloads with only occasional periods of extended hours, certain teams and leaders may require more demanding schedules. Similarly, the company offers unlimited PTO, but the flexibility to use this benefit depends on the specific team and project leader. Additionally, reliance on proprietary software may limit the transferability of certain skills to other roles outside the company.
