Pros

- Talented Engineers - Some cool projects being worked on

Cons

By far the worst place I've worked at throughout my 5 year career. Every post that you'll see on Glassdoor about management being toxic and incapable is absolutely true. Engineers are as talented and as capable as I've seen at FAANG companies I've worked at in the past, but managers were clearly promoted/hired without the scalability of the company in mind. Managers are skilled at engineering tasks, but are clueless when it comes to managing people. I've seen too many onboarding engineers left without proper support and insight into how to do their jobs well and it's actually pathetic. How do you expect new engineers to meet tight deadlines if they're not given the proper tools and support to do so? This company has the potential to be something great, but not the way it's being ran currently. However, even outside of management, most what's being built out is glorified demoware that the government is buying into because their software hasn't been updated since the 1990's and anything new is considered to be a massive upgrade. Please stay away if you have any self-respect.

Cool Tech, Toxic Workplace

Pros

Some of the employees are really nice people. Lots of fun gadgets and tools, learned a lot.

Cons

The company has no real leadership. People pretend to manage / micromanage, but no one is driving the bus in a single direction. The company is also not in a position to scale for the current year, let alone for the next decade. Cronyism has led to wholly unqualified people being put into leadership positions and those unqualified managers hire people without the skills that would expose their lack of knowledge. Business Development makes promises to customers that stress everyone to deliver or are outright impossible. Employees with skills and experience that contribute positively are burdened with multiple additional tasks that are critical but unrelated to their workload, and then are treated badly when they fall behind in their main role. Politics is a poorly played but really dirty game here. Who you know and how you look play a serious role in how well you are treated.
