Thanks for your feedback. We're happy to hear you appreciated the work/life balance at Angi. Our "take as you need" PTO policy is meant to give people the flexibility to take time off work when needed without feeling the pressure of a finite PTO allotment. We're glad that worked well for you. We're sorry to hear that you felt a lack of product vision. Angi is a leader in the home industry space and our position requires us to innovate, iterate and, at times, pivot quickly. We appreciate the contributions you made while at Angi and hope you find success in your next endeavor.

Pros

I've been at Angi for less than a year but I've learned a lot already. My colleagues are kind and helpful, and we're always looking to grow as a team and improve individually as well. The culture has changed more to become like a modern tech company, which I appreciate. The job is remote for engineers and I appreciate the flexibility. The training experience was streamlined, and although there needs to be more improvements in onboarding engineers in a better way, I can tell they're focused on making it better. There's a lot of modern tech tools at the company as well, which makes the job enjoyable. Work life balance is good as well, I don't find myself working overtime much.

Cons

Although the role is still currently fully remote for engineers, it used to be remote for all workers at the company, and they recently walked back on that. This may change in the future for engineers as well, and I certainly prefer remaining fully remote. The company's stock price is also struggling recently and there's a lot of pressure to improve the product, and thus deadlines can be a bit intense. This hasn't affected the work life balance yet but it may in the near future. There also weren't as many engineers who had been at the company for a long time when I joined, so there's not too much domain knowledge, however this seems to be changing now since they're retaining more engineers.

Thanks for your thoughtful review. It sounds like you've found a good fit here at Angi, so congratulations! We know how important team work and collaboration are and we're happy to hear that you feel supported and appreciated by your coworkers. As you noted, engineers continue to work fully remote while other departments have shifted to a hybrid work environment. This transition has presented both challenges and benefits and our Culture & Engagement team is working diligently to ensure we're creating a productive work environment for everyone. If you have feedback, please reach out to the C&E team directly. And lastly, work/life balance is important and we're glad to know we're striking the right it right. Best of luck in your continued growth here at Angi.

Pros

Unlimited PTO. Management that cares about employees lives first, Competitive salaries, No expectations of working overtime to meet deadlines, remote work for engineering

Cons

ANGI is a larger company. While there is nothing inherently negative about that, software engineers looking for a role at a smaller company may be discouraged.

Thanks for your thoughtful post and for highlighting the strength of our management teams, our commitment to work/life balance, and our competitive compensation plans. The 4 day work week is definitely something worth considering and continues to make headlines as companies evaluate their hybrid work models. Our Culture & Engagement team is committed to finding the right balance for remote and in-person employees. We'll certainly weigh the pros and cons of a 4 day work week as we continue exploring options to make our hybrid work experience as successful as possible.
