Pros

On the whole AB is a fine company, great benefits, fun brands, lots of opportunity for development

Cons

AB systematically incentivizes its best and brightest to leave with unnecessary layers of bureaucracy and cost controls. For example, you can’t increase salary by more than 15% in any one move, even if you jumped a full band or more. Senior/executive advancement is a war of attrition and leaves us with uninspiring leadership (most of which still white males) in many areas. AB is a great blocking and tackling monopolist, is terrible at building brands or spotting trends early. You may not feel inspired by the ambition or modern capabilities of those around you. The industry is 30 years behind the times. 3-tier system creates a lack of control over the product. Everything must be viewed through the politics of wholesalers and retailers, not to mention internal divided among Regions and brand teams etc. It is quite frustrating over time, and you realize the bulk of your time is spent on internal selling.

Pros

-People are nice and friendly -Open bars -Trying to deliver work-life balance through improving processes -The company offers opportunities to grow -Managers don’t micromanage and there are periodic survey to rate your managers and it does really work how the team feels about their managers (HR take that into consideration)

Cons

-The compensation plans/salaries are horrendous especially for such hard time like now and the increased inflation rate -The company approach is really rude when people keep asking whether there will be reviewing for the salaries or not. Their answer was that maybe the company is not for everyone, meaning if you don’t like it, you can leave. -Lately, you can feel that people are actively looking to leave this company, because before inflation happened, the salaries were worse than many other companies like Amazon. -Moreover, no matter how hard you work, you might not get your full bonus because they have a KPI in the target that you can’t affect and that’s totally unfair not getting my full bonus. -Also, the compnay needs to take into consideration that there are good employees there that happened not to be FTL and they deserve promotions, because apparently you work your head there in a position for 3 years but FTL who has just finished their program becomes your manager or take the vacancy just because they are FTLs. That really creates a sense of discrimination.
