      Union job. Job security. Cool co-workers.

      Cons

      Underpaid for all the skills that analysts have. In order to make an ok salary you have to work a lot of overtime. No work-life balance. Seniority based, so you have to work whatever shift is less desirable (grave). Upper management always puts production before quality. Training for new managers is subpar.
