Pros

Some of the hardest working most dedicated people I have ever worked with. We all had so much pride in making the best beer and had fun doing it. Pay and benefits are amazing.

Cons

I can only speak to Merrimack facility. When I say that the pay an benefits are amazing there is a catch. Nationally an excessive focus on cost per barrel has led the company to cut corners as well as manpower. The company is unwilling to admit that they are understaffed, which is affecting employees work/life balance. People are being forced to work 12 hours shifts several times a week so that the facility doesn't have to staff a few more people to get the work done properly and safely. At the same time the Merrimack facility is currently laying off most of its workforce roughly once every 4-6 weeks in order to manage that cost per barrel. Managers pay lip service to problem solving tools and safety issues because addressing them properly costs money that isn't in the extremely tight budget.

Pros

The Anheuser-Busch name carries weight and looks great on a résumé. There are talented, passionate people at the individual contributor level who genuinely care about their work. The product portfolio is strong, and there are opportunities to collaborate with major brands.

Cons

Leadership often prioritizes appearances and politics over people and performance. There’s a lack of transparency and communication from upper management, leading to confusion, low morale, and burnout. Micromanagement and favoritism are common, stifling creativity and initiative. Workload expectations are unrealistic, and mental health or work-life balance are not genuinely supported. Promises of growth and development are rarely fulfilled—leadership talks about “culture,” but decisions consistently contradict it. Poor cross-departmental collaboration; teams work in silos and compete rather than cooperate.
