Pros

-Competitive entry-level salary and attractive management trainee programs -Good benefits package and 401k match -Tons of free beer, cool swag, basically a college kid’s dream job -As much opportunity and responsibility as you can handle -Anheuser-Busch looks really good on a resume -Your peers are generally fun and share similar interests and passions; some of my closest friendships started at AB

Cons

-Work-life balance boundaries: on top of frequent 10-12 hour days, often needed to answer calls and respond to emails during weekends and evenings, vacations are not sacred -Turnover (especially at breweries): burnout and a strategy to promote quickly are contributors to backfill pressure -Bureaucracy, as expected in a global corporation of this size -Questioning ideas will make you stick out vs. just drinking the company kool-aid / beer and being "align-ed" -Compensation bounded by salary bands and merit-based annual raises further drive the need to promote quickly. -Stock option LTIs received over the past 10 years likely carry little value based on AB's stock performance -Feels like every year comes with a new set of strategies but without the necessary resources to implement them (driver of work-life balance).

Thank you for sharing a detailed review about your time with us at AB. We are actively seeking what stands out to our current and former employees, as we strive to continuously improve. To address some of your feedback, we understand work life balance can be challenging, and we always encourage our employees to work with their managers to help prioritize tasks that will allow for more balance in their day. Additionally when it comes to banding and compensation, we have recently made changes to our compensation model and bonus structure as a result of employee feedback, and we encourage all employees to reach out to leadership to understand these changes. We realize there is always room for improvement though, so we appreciate your comments and have shared them internally. We wish you the best in your future career.

Pros

Amazing opportunity for advancement, known name, stable company, decent benefits and 401k options, competitive pay scale. Forward thinking and innovative company, well-respected in the marketplace for the most part. The older, more senior employees are some of the best people and mentors you can ask for - but are being quickly pushed out for younger, lower cost employees.

Cons

Work-life balance non existent anymore. Expectations have become unreasonable at best. There is a new product, program, or routine being introduced nearly every week and keeping up with it all is nearly impossible. You are tracked on everything and there are reports on everything...they actually run reports which track the number and frequency of reports being ran. You have a great opportunity for advancement and bumping your pay scale, however you must be mobile and willing to move every year to 18 months (until senior mgmt levels). If you aren't mobile, you will be lucky if you get an annual merit increase. If you are willing to move, you are discouraged from being selective, so if there is a job opening they have you in mind for you are expected to enthusiastically take it or you get black listed. Goals and objectives are constantly moving and based on (what the other guy is doing). If you are given an initial goal of 25% distribution, once you hit that target you are then told to get to 50%, and the objective will keep moving until 100% (whether it is reasonable or fitting for the market or not). If you are given a goal of 25% growth, but another guy on the team is at 50%, then 50% immediately becomes the new standard and you are now under-performing. You are never "done".
