The president would just make up toys and ideas on the spot to run with it, especially after firing an entire marketing department. The company lost its way after the founder became gravely ill and put the current president at the healm. In 2019, as a “team building exercise”, the president asked senior managers to wear a noose. He spoke of some gibberish Greek folklore and said if you go to war in the toy business, and fail, don’t bother coming back. The noose was an analogy that we might as well hang ourselves. Seriously, this happened! The company was terrible managing cash flow, inventory and maintaining big box customer expectations.
