      Decent compensation for your frustration

      Pros

      Good salary, great benefits, annual bonuses, some location flexibility, flexibility to move between teams. No pressure to take your work home with you.

      Cons

      Some software projects are poorly designed, resulting in high code churn and low morale. Many developers have gotten frustrated and left. Have a serious track record for buying out other companies rather than hiring employees and developing internally.

      It has been an awesome two years at Apache Design Solutions (Sub of Ansys), and I enjoyed every bit of my work there.

      Pros

      Good work culture, handsome salary. And great exposure to VLSI technologies, and gives you a very good learning curve in your career growth.

      Cons

      No cons as such. The company is still young, just 10 years. But that gives you that much freedom in terms of your growth.

      Pros

      - Work with very bright people. - Develop cutting edge simulation software. - Decent pay. - Free soft drinks.

      Cons

      - A lot of bureaucracy to deal with in a fairly small company. - Very top-down management philosophy. New ideas are expected to flow from upper levels down, rarely from rank and file up. - IT department does not have a culture of customer satisfaction. Does not work well with development. - Corporate strategy is to grow through acquisition instead of by creating new products/ideas internally. - Not a lot of love and affection lavished on employees.
