      A Company That Doesn't Care About Employees

      Pros

      While being laid off is not ideal, the relief of no longer being associated with this company is the only pro I can think of.

      Cons

      Let me be clear: this company is the definition of corporate greed and shortsightedness. Before I was hired, I was originally employed by a local company that was bought by this private equity-backed group. I was forced to take a new position under this company because they gave me an ultimatum—either accept the change or lose my job. My original position was eliminated, and despite feeling completely cornered, I had no choice but to take the new job. Surprise, surprise - I was laid off with zero severance pay. No warning, no support, just the cold, heartless reality that I was expendable to them.
