Pros

Solid network of highly skilled people. Best resources in the world if you can get them on the the phone. Great work life balance.

Cons

Huge cultural variances. Lack of common vision. Ex-Consultant running a company who does not know true implementation. Management lives in an ivory tower. Overly smug mentality regarding what is truly unique.

Pros

Highly open to using new technology for tackling business problems. When interacting with upper managers who are intellectually honest, it is no problem engaging in meaningful discussions. In some teams you can experience a "best idea wins" attitude. Good compensation. Good benefits.

Cons

Due to their "grow by acquisition" strategy, there is still several pockets of technical debt protected by "turf lords". Some areas are highly political and a new comer needs to be politically savvy to navigate those waters. Some managers are very thin-skinned and don't take constructive criticism very well. Lack of leadership with spine tends to favor platitudes over realism.
