Pros

Boss was demanding, but supportive. Colleagues were very supportive. Expected to work independently, and as a result learned a lot. Good exam support on paper, in terms of study days given and fees paid.

Cons

Exam support is good on paper, but actual study days that can be taken is very limited especially during the busy season. Salary and work environment and perks are mediocre. If you can, work at a reinsurer.

Pros

The pros of Aon are that it is a large corporation that allows for internal movement and that creates opportunities for career growth. Very flexible hours and good work/life balance over the past three years that I have been with the company. The culture is very friendly and many people have been with the company for 15+ years.

Cons

Depending on the department, starting salaries may be lower than other companies in the insurance sector. There can be a disconnect between the business units and makes it harder to handle clients.

Pros

Great pay and fair benefits. Global company with opportunities for relocation or work from home. Strict hiring process attracts high quality talent.

Cons

If salary expect to work 50-60 hr weeks. Systems dept. is somewhat immature. Internally facing business apps are either archaic or non-existent. Expect to use Office for nearly all tasks. Very decentralized administration.
