Pros

Good pay, decent work/life balance, not too much travel, flexibility as far as work location, some nice coworkers, some smart people.

Cons

No opportunities for upward mobility, cut throat brokers, senior managment does not communicate well with others, company was much better when Pat Ryan was there.

Pros

Schedule flexibility and diversity of accounts.

Cons

Very limited opportunity for advancement. Classic pyramid structure (few at the top make all the $$, everyone else remains disappointed and miserable).

Pros

I got in with the company at Benfield, so luckily all of my vacation time etc got grandfathered in. That's about it...

Cons

Benfield was a great company to work for- you were valued as an employee and could move up if you remained loyal to the company and worked hard. Benfield did lots of things for employees such as employee outings. Now that Aon has taken over, budgets are minimal, micromanagement is at an all time high, and employee moral is at an all time low. This past month they recently cut the budget to exclude paper plates and plastic silverware in the kitchens. They have outsourced several positions to India, and laid off people.
