Pros

The insurance industry is old. Aon is doing a good job of keeping the good from the old industry and accepting new technologies and ideas that will continue to make it the best broker in the world. They are a meritocracy which is great for hard-workers and there is plenty of room for opportunity.

Cons

Management structure is very loose and often confusing. It takes some serious communication and networking skills to navigate and understand the corporate culture and nuances.

Pros

There is a good deal of mobility if you are looking to relocate or try something new within the company.

Cons

The pay is pretty sub-par considering the work that is being done at certain levels. Generally, incoming consultants make the same as brokers, which isn't always fair as the depth of knowledge needed to be a consultant as well as the demands of the job are much higher than are required to be a broker.
