Pros

Relaxed work. Nobody cares when you come and when you leave. Some teams has one day per week Work From (for) Home. Can work from remote all time in some cases. You can least bother about work.

Cons

Nobody bothers if it fails in production, we can fix it later (IT). Low morale and Managers don't value developers/analysts. IT People working for long time in company resist new ideas from new employees and keep them away for job security and management supports it.

Pros

Apollo Group will be your dream job if you enjoy working with the young professional demographic. In Technical Support, you will work with your friends and enjoy good conversation and be treated fairly by your management team.

Cons

It is fairly difficult to make the switch between a Contract-to-Hire and a Permanent Employee.

Pros

Great place for Education Benefits and Medical Benefits – a bit high on employee contribution $$ Good if early in career and learning as an IT Professional Pay is Mid to Low for grade and experience – plan on using benefits and making less $$ Long hours and weeks so you do not need to be home and see family members

Cons

Quite Frankly Apollo IT has gone to the Dogs; The IT Department is understaffed and pushes all the employees to 50+ hours with very carefully worded language about your position stability. At one time Apollo IT was a great place to work and everyone worked together; now it is all wolves and friction. Also it is now known as DHL South-West. When the new IT VP in mid 2009 year, he made sweeping changes that ruined the "culture" that had existed; the VP brought his gang from DHL; There were a number of solid highly skilled Apollo IT staff employee’s let go to make room for the DHL staff.. Actually while some of the actions and changes were needed; others were clearly a thinning of t he woods to make room for the DHL gang. Clearly a number of former DHL IT guys knew of the plan in advance before the Apollo Employees being released from employment. That is questionable ethics. As the new VP brought in his former staff in the problems increased - and they were *NOT* the experts that claimed to be and they clearly brought some dead-wood in also. The VP's new Brain Trust came to Apollo with big egos, arrogance, and were experts on everything. Ha, One of the Brain-Trust stated that they were just the "thinkers" and hired consultants to do the "Heavy- Lifting" for them. This indicates they were not really “do'ers” and added no real value to IT Staff. What a waste of dollars. So, after many years invested at Apollo and working many 50++ hr weeks; I had few choices and was released from employment on a work-force reduction. My position filled by a former DHL employee... I received a small $$ compensation for my all my years of dedication and efforts; while my replacement received more $$ and Stock Options... Go Figure So, where are the EEOC and Employment Law investigations when you need one; nowhere - Apollo HR converted this really well.. They have learned from prior layoff's. Noting also that the number or recent IT hires with DHL one to three employers back on the resume is statistically abnormal.. There are way too many DHL hires per 100 hires into IT in the past year - where is the Class Action suite when you need one.. Just don't invest any time in Apollo or expect a career - there is NOT LOYALITY... At All.
