Pros

Most people don't understand the culture of Apollo employees and how it operates. There are people who work long hours to keep the systems running and advancing in the competitive marketplace. They love to do what they are doing and have a good time with it.

Cons

Sadly - there is very limited opportunities for an internal employee to get promoted anymore. IT turnover basically went from being an Apollo operation to bringing on all the DHL employees who were released from their job. All the loyal Apollo people were demoted or put out the door. No always a bad thing to get rid of dead weight - but it is a freaking morgue with people scared for their jobs. People who have been with the company longer than 3 years are not promoted anymore because they are "tainted". Once the market opens up again - I am gone from there - too bad as loyal employees get kicked in the teeth for being loyal. Don't let them fool you - no longer will they be listed as one of the best IT places to work.

Pros

A continuously growing organization that is innovating and taking the leading role on adult education. The challenges are big but the vision is still there, to bring the best platform to support continuous learning on an information driven society. The working environment is good, and benefits are probably the best thing the company offers to their employees.

Cons

Salaries are not the greatest, yet there are many who would stay just for the benefits. The city of Phoenix is a bit boring compared to other cosmopolitan larger cities in the USA. If you don't mind the extreme heat on the desert then this place is for you.
