      Young company with inexperience managers and recruiting. Some employees take pride in working off hours and on weekends (poor work-life balance).

      Some prestigious clients and a few talented employees remain.

      Cons

      All of the creative people have left and the company culture has gone down the tubes. Cisco has crushed everything that made this place great and what remains is a company poorly equipped to execute its increasingly ambiguous mission. If you thought working for a dinosaur like Cisco was bad, imagine working for Cisco's redheaded stepchild.

      First off, AppDynamics is composed of some of the nicest, most talented folks I've ever worked with. Cisco benefits are great and the company mostly embraces a thoughtful strategy to how they treat employees. There is some kick-ass talent amongst the fold here, and I learned a lot.

      Cons

      Sadly, AppDyanmics has in many ways been in decline since the Cisco acquisition, with a tumultuous amount of attrition due to a careless approach to the company vision, Cisco integration, and the processes to support the necessary (fast) evolution to SaaS software. I witnessed countless well-intentioned projects sink or crumble under the weight of mismatched expectations, lack of support and/or project leaders leaving midway through execution. This was a serious problem at AppD that I hope they take equally seriously in their approach to fixing it.
