Pros

Appian has walked the walk and talked the talk. Execs, leaders, and teams are easy to approach and knowledgable. As I've spun up and made impact, it's only through being supported by the great teams that are hear. Folks are outspoken when they want to see change, and the executives and leadership respond in kind. I've been able to help bring about major change as well as seen decisions that weren't right corrected within hours or days, not months or weeks in previous experiences. Fully invested in the company culture which strikes the right balance we start-up and professionalism.

Cons

None, but continued intentional diversification and equality will be critical to ensure a more diverse pool grows naturally.

Great Company Culture

Pros

The company takes culture seriously and everyone is helpful to people coming in. Company success is a team effort and all employees are shareholders. The onboarding process is extensive and depending on the role some people will not join their team for three months given product training experiences. Be aware that this is a challenging company who have built an entire application building and process management platform. Becoming product-knowledgeable is necessary to really be effective in any product role and this takes plenty of time and effort up front. However, the effort is rewarding for one who is seeking a challenge. If you're looking to coast by this is not the company for you. The company used to be D.C. headquarters-centric, but has expanded to hire fully remote people since the pandemic. Transitioning to a fully-remote-friendly culture is a work in progress, but will get there.

Cons

So far there are no cons, unless you are looking for an easy gig. It's a fast-paced company and the demands on product managers are many.
