Pros

Good people with a lot of camaraderie. Flexible schedules.

Cons

They pay their top people very well to keep them and the rest of the employees get paid under market. You will work long hours and get very little recognition. Not a lot of career growth unless you are one of top employees. They play favorites by promoting people they like and making excuses to not promote other deserving employees.

Pros

The coworkers are great though there has been about an 85% turnover in the last few years. Peers in engineering are great to learn from and share information with - good programming skills to take to another job. Management is desperate to keep employees now so you can negotiate salary.

Cons

Senior Management including founders are egotistical and have yet to be profitable. They run their employees ragged with ridiculous hours and then don't appreciate them at the end of the day. They now appreciate those who dedicate their lives to their work but there are better options out there for a couple extra bucks. Customers and employees are generally dissatisfied with the product and Appian in general but the Sales team is great and continues to sell.

Pros

Your peers are generally good people. Smart, easy to work with. Generally pretty reasonable with work-life balance and easy to take time off whenever needed. Work is also low to medium stress after the initial shell shock boot camp. Boot camp is good and bad. Great way to ramp up quickly, but it is extremely high stress and you WILL get yelled at, grilled, and force fed basically.

Cons

Very limited opportunity to advance your career. There just isn't enough opportunity at the company. Company is having huge issues becoming profitable. I'm not sure it has been in the last 3-4 years. Total lack of raises. Benefits suck. Vacation carry over is stingy and so was cash out. They will not pay out you earned and will limit what they give you in cash. Zero training opportunity. I mean ZERO. Your SKILLS are what you sell in consulting. Zero training means you're falling behind.
