Can feel like toxic Positivity Apple has something called ‘career experiences’ which are offered to employees as out of role development opportunities, but really just a guise to get labor done for a pay above your own. I found myself in a 2 1/2 year career experience getting paid SIGNIFICANTLY less than the role I was doing because ‘finance would not approve another req’. I was not the only employee in this position. MANY people quit around the same time I did, for this and other varying, but similar, reasons. Apple can be great for development and may look great on a resume but they are unapologetically exploitative, and they still expect a “thank you for the opportunity.” Unreal. I would not recommend working there unless there is internal systemic change to their development path— which is still the same as of 2025.
