Pros

Coworkers are great, that's the only thing that will get you through a shift

Cons

Just about everything. From management to customers, no one respects your or your life. Expect to be asked to work constantly when you're not available. Managers are some of the most rude and impolite people you will meet. Scream at you in the back and throw you under the bus to customers. Don't come to them with actual problems - you will get laughed out of the office. Don't expect a break - somehow, applebee's gets away with servers working 12+ hour shifts and getting no off the clock break through out the day.

Pros

Tips are fast cash - generally made 50-200$ per 5 hours. Better money than min wage jobs.

Cons

Every employee from front to back and bottom to top is overworked and undercompensated. A third of the work is non-serving related yet servers are strictly paid the below-minimum-wage serving wage. Side work is intense and grueling. Servers must receive at least 10 online customer praises each week or have thier schedule cut - That means (on average) two glowing customer reviews per shift - keep in mind this is Applebee’s. Workload/quality-of-food/customer demographic/employee demand ratios set you up for failure. Hours can exceed 14hours with no breaks. Servers sometimes have to do dishes which is impossible to do while maintaining customer needs - then punished when there is t enough silver wear or dishes. No benefits. My heart aches for so many Applebee’s employees who haven’t or won’t move on. Of course strict policies prevent you from sharing any of this.

Pros

As many hours as you want.

Cons

Inconsistent work hours. The idea of being "cut" should not be a thing. Schedule me to come in at a time and work until another time. When the end time is reached and i punch out and go off the clock that is the conclusion of my time acting in the capacity of an employee. My pay should not be contingent on the generosity of servers via a tip-sharing system.
