Pros
There is more opportunity to make tips than other restaurants because Applebee's has not only a dinner rush, but also another rush around 9 when they serve half priced appetizers and some half-priced drinks. Your co-workers are generally pretty chill. If you're cut (told your shift is over and you can go home) before you've made as much money as you wanted to that night, there's usually another server who is scheduled to stay later who will gladly switch with you and let you stay later. They have a great website for employees that shows you your shifts, let's you request off, and switch shifts with other employees.
Cons
You need to make friends with the managers and make sure they like you. I worked at 2 different locations, and one of them had a few old ladies as servers (age 40+), which isn't always a bad thing (you can usually tell if they're nice right away), but some of them have been there forever and make your life a nightmare when it comes to side work (chores) and will complain about you to management. Obviously, the side work sucks. If it's mostly young people as servers who are closers they tell to be more relaxed about it. Otherwise you'll spend an hour and a half after you're cut cleaning random stuff.
