Pros
• Met one-on-one with each member of C-suite during onboarding (as an entry-level employee) • CEO hosts periodic "Straight Talk" calls asking various groups of employees about the challenges we're facing • Management is willing to invest in new tools and staff to support growth • Management and HR are honestly eager to understand people's needs • Mentorship program - I met with a VP biweekly for 6 months • My direct manager is always available and communicative • Teammates and larger AST team are friendly and supportive • Real support (not just talk) for unplugging while on time off • Open (unlimited) time off • Flexibility to work from home or office
Cons
• Growing pains (unavoidable for a company growing as quickly as AST): we are reinventing processes on the fly • Like any geographically dispersed, WFH company, it can be hard to connect with people outside your team • I hear some people work longer hours and find it difficult to take time off, but this has never been a problem for me
