For a company so meticulous about us signing our employee numbers on everything we touch, they were incredibly vague about mistakes. We used to be able to work with one earbud in but because of the over usage of phones and mistakes by a few, all team members had that privilege taken away without being told what happened.
Several days the company was shut down due to turbine failure (they’ve been trying to switch to their own power for years and have been unsuccessful) but even though it was the company’s fault, we workers were not compensated for the days we weren’t able to come in. When we said we had bills we needed to pay, we were met with “this is a private company, we don’t have to pay you” and we’re not treated with a modicum of empathy. We got a free meal but that was it for the missed days.
Also, entry level pay was peanut shells and not enough to live on. I got $17.50/hr for working night shift. That doesn’t cut it for SoCal.
The RSM campus had a bunch of nice amenities that we, people from other areas, had to tour like a gym, cafeteria, in-house dry cleaning, cafe, merch store, yoga room and other such things you do not get at the Lake Forest buildings. It was really clear only the office workers were valued.
