Pros

There are a high percentage of engineers and scientists with advanced degrees. The work is interesting and there are a large number of small research projects. The benefits are some of the best I've seen. If you have an idea and can find funding for it, ARA gives you a lot of freedom to pursue the idea.

Cons

The majority of work is focused on the defense industry, so defense cutbacks have an impact on the business. Business processes are ad hoc at times.

Pros

Excellent schedule flexibility. Retirement benefits above and beyond those offered at most (if not all) other local companies. Casual dress. No cubicles.

Cons

Management emphasizes that all employees are to perform marketing work, but were no good examples to follow. There was some trouble with stability at the time of my departure.
