      Pros

      Fantastic benefits, medical, vision, dental, 401k, ESOP. Company tries to accommodate work schedules. Cares about employees.

      Cons

      Government contractor, can't blame them when contracts don't get renewed and job loss occurs, unstable work environment due to this. Educational opportunities rarely available to support staff, mostly just technical staff.

      Pros

      Lots of freedom to move among projects. Provides both breadth and depth to technical experience. Relatively relaxed, social atmosphere. Management is not over-bearing.

      Cons

      As you move up towards senior level, you are expected to do a fair amount of marketing and bring in a decent amount of funding. This detracts from the amount of technical work you can do, and forces you into a project management role.
