Multifaceted incompetence

Pros

- A fair number of nice people - Many folks care about DEI - Fairly nice office

Cons

- Weird obsession with microservices - Push for using AI tools - Incompetent leadership - Firing individual contributors over managers and yes-men - Dumb RTO policy to "increase innovation" - Awful tech stack (Rails, React v16) - Idiotic product decisions (making a mobile app no one asked for, making a chatbot, Jira style workflow for end users) - Some of the worst code I've ever seen - Absurd amount of cronyism based on nationality

Great place to coast, but I wouldn't want to work there

Pros

- Performance is measured by engagement and positivity; if you are someone who enjoys giving 'kudos', you'll do well. - Non-stop company propaganda, if you enjoy that kind of thing

Cons

- Most employees are technically mediocre; the platform is saved by very few key, excellent, developers who don't always have the seniority they need to make real change - Heavy meeting culture; expect to spend a minimum of two hours a day in meetings -Performance is measured by engagement and positivity; if you want to be a heads-down coder, look elsewhere. - Frequent and unpredictable layoffs; I know of at least four in the last two years - Frequent and unpredictable re-orgs - Heavy emphasis on social interaction; though they offer remote & hybrid work, it is not respected
