Pros
This is a large sprawling company with several orgs that are distinct in culture and completely independent from each other, so read reviews here with that in mind. The company is trying to diversify away from depending exclusively on contracts with Auto manufacturers, and has embarked on building several software product orgs throughout the company. Several companies have been acquired, and the hope is that Aptiv can build the teams and cultures necessary to build profitable SaaS revenue streams. The market opportunities are potentially big, and the domain is interesting and involves non trivial tech challenges.
Cons
These internal startups/tech-acquisition still have to deal with the bureaucracy of Aptiv as a whole, and this leaks into areas of recruiting and compensation. The company has moved towards hiring outside of the US more and more. Remote work policy is a continual work in progress, and differs wildly across the company. Big culture gaps between senior talent/leadership brought in recently or acquired, and those who have been raised within the company. Overestimation and mismatched expectations of what new software product orgs can achieve. Company has previously depended on contracted agencies to hit short term software goals.
