Pros
Making more as an undergrad than what I’d cap out at with a career in the field my bachelors degree is in. Active, social and outside- seems better for many aspects of health and sanity than being behind a desk. Learn a skill set that will be advantageous in any and all interactions with people. Sharped your willpower, discipline and work ethic. You can work for four months and not have to for the rest of the year, or spend whatever hours you want recruiting in the fall and winter.
Cons
Super male dominated and the industry caters heavily to that- I’m a female and don’t feel equally accommodated when it comes to uniforms and other incentives. If you’re working with the right team and managers you’ll have a great experience. But not all teams are created equal. Fortunately, my experience has been nothing but positive with my managers. Expect your weight to do something weird, whether that’s gain or loss. You don’t necesarily have the time to pay attention to a strict exercise or diet regimen depending on what your goals and priorities are.
