Pros

- Getting to be in a pro sports atmosphere frequently - Pay raises every year (I believe) - Can get to know coworkers if you work the same days and stands as them (helps the time go by a lot faster and makes working there more fun) - Management seems to be quite friendly - I believe you can get discounts on things but never used it so not 100% sure - Can accept tips and some venues - Can leave early if games are in extra innings/overtime if you have seniority - Always feel safe with the amount of security in the venues

Cons

- Having to pay to park even though you are an employee parking in the employee lot - Don't really get to develop a comradery with coworkers because the work force is so large - Can feel like you are "just another nameless, faceless employee at times when it comes to management - Can be LONG hours standing on your feet on hard cement ground. (At PNC, you aren't allowed to sit or put cardboard boxes down to make your legs hurt less. I was in my early 20s when I started and after every Pirate game my legs would be in PAIN) - They provide meals but you can't eat the food the fans eat (PPG Paints and Acrisure Stadium let you eat some of the food but not PNC last I was aware of) - Homestands can drag on and on - You can only leave once the event is over 9.5/10 times - Personal con that might effect you: Homestands can last for 2 weeks so it's normally 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off - Management seems to be a revolving door/stepping stone job - Depending on the venue, you are outside and exposed to the elements - You have to stay through rain delays, game stoppages, overtimes and more. You should typically have an idea of how long other non sporting events will last though via word of mouth or a hand out sheet. - Customers CAN be rude but you can also turn that around by trying to build comradery - Some events are classified as "secondary events" if not enough people show up and you can only work secondary events if you have enough seniority I believe

Pros

Don't have to worry about upper management coming. You can take off as often as you want with no consequences.

Cons

No upper management ever comes to see how things work or don't work. You can take off work as often as you want with no consequences. One of the lowest paying jobs in town. No appreciation for the employees who go above and beyond and show up everyday and take up the slack for those who don't. Not because Aramark is a great company to work for . and shows their employees they appreciate them. Because Aramark doesn't do that.
