Pros

There is a lot of opportunity to take on projects that interest you and direct your own development. Although career paths are not always clearly defined, if you are the type who can forge your own path and make connections across departments and functions, you will go far. There are some truly wonderful and intelligent people at this company who are more than willing to share knowledge/expertise!

Cons

The company culture largely depends on your location/group - not all locations foster a positive, community environment. The company is large which inevitably leads to bureaucracy, you need to have patience and determination to get things done. The company lacks transparency in some areas.

Thank you for providing your feedback! ArcelorMittal strives to take care of their employees, whether this is through continuous education, developmental opportunities, health and wellness, or so much more, our people are important to the success of this Company. The U.S. steel industry is facing a critical workforce challenge: thousands of skilled workers are needed over the next decade to fill vacancies left by retirements. An aging, skilled workforce in the manufacturing industry creates an acute current and anticipated need for skilled workers with strong technical and engineering training. Together, the baby boomer generation approaching retirement, a restructuring economy and rapidly advancing technology have created an increased demand for individuals to enter the United States workforce with higher skills in science, technology and math skills. Consequently, it has become imperative for business and education to partner and build a highly skilled, highly trained technical workforce to support the broader manufacturing economy.
