Pros

Not really anything anymore, unfortunately

Cons

Upper management has made many changes and decisions that have set the stage for failure. More importantly, the employees that make the place operate, are disgruntled, frustrated, etc. Cut the number of employees, maintenance budgets, expecting people to do more with less. Morale is at an all-time low…it’s become a volatile environment. The rate of employees quitting, at all levels of the corporate ladder is astronomic.

Pros

Work life balance is good at Dofasco. You get to go home on time most of the time. Technology folks are professional to work with and bring in positive culture. Benefits and profit sharing is really good!

Cons

Base salary is not competitive. Bonuses can vary from year to year. If you win the lucky draw of toxic, crusty trades people to work with, then job can become a hell with unprofessional behavior. Otherwise, it is all good. Shop floor folks (trades and ops) can foster very negative atmosphere at times. Need to be a positive person to survive.
