Friendly co-workers, No micromanaged work requirements, opportunities for travel and genuinely being able to help people who need the technical assistance. Taking Support Desk calls (4 hours shifts) is actually a good thing, as it increases your knowledge base.

Cons

No real room for advancement/promotion, unless you work at the Houston (Greenspoint) offices. Not a great deal of feedback/communication from Supervisors regarding progress, other than pre-scheduled requirements (mid-year review, etc.) With current oil/gas recession, massive cutbacks to staffing, bonuses and raises, as well as equipment shortages, etc. Ticket tracking system is archaic and clumsy.

Great benefits. Many individuals of quality and talent capable of achieving the best marks in the industry. Management working hard to get through industry slump.

Cons

The industry is in the one of the greatest slumps of this century and this has everyone working very hard almost to the point of being detrimental to the companies goals.
