Pros

The first shift supervisor and plant manager are really good people. Annual reviews for raises, doesn't start at a bad hourly rate either.

Cons

The air quality is so bad, they dont even post the OSHA rating for public view. A result of that is you have to wear a pretty heavy welding hood and an annoying air supply pack. In the summer it gets very hot and humid in the shop making it even more uncomfortable and sometimes harder to breath. The health insurance here is beyond ridiculous. You might start out at a decent hourly rate but consider 4 dollars an hour of that gone straight to health insurance, and that's only for you, not your spouse or kids. It's a very dirty shop, granted they try to keep it clean but you will be grimey every day. It's a metal shop, so it's a little expected. Everything is a secret at this shop when it comes to management. Changes are abrupt and lately have been very aggravating because of the fact we're ill-prepared for the change, or it's just flat out harder than it should be. Aggravating enough to have totally killed morale and lately 90% of the workers are looking for new employment, and I cannot blame them, I'm in the same boat.

Pros

Arcosa has made some great strides since they split from Trinity. The people are good and it has a small company feel without having to worry about the company not being stable. Great career advancement opportunities. The upper management is great. The CEO really listens to the people and wants the people to succeed.

Cons

There is still a lot of changes needed after the transition. The benefits have a long ways to go to be competitive with other companies.
