Pros

Easy job doesn’t require too much work

Cons

This company is not one to work for. Recent college grads avoid at all costs. Here are the reasons why not to work here: -Company Culture: There is none, no one seems happy here, no one seems to want to make friends or be personable. Seeing a smile on someone’s face is a rarity you might never see. Welcome to the factory of sadness. -Outdated business practices: You would think in the technology world of business that a software company would make necessary changes to keep up with the changing times right? The complete opposite happens: technology utilized is outdated, business practices aren’t successful, and approaches to gaining new clients are not very effective. -Senior Management: They are ghosts and only care about saving money for the company by being as cheap as possible. For example, in one year of being here I haven’t even seen any of senior management show their face around the office yet they have the audacity to send us letters when you join about how much they exercise and how you shouldn’t put in healthcare claims. Why would they do that? Cause healthcare claims cost them money. This in turn effects... -HR lying and being restricted by senior management: HR will try to bait you in during the interview but don’t fall for their lies. Their goal is to try and get as many people to join the company (due to high turnover -covered later) so they will lie to you about things like flexible working hours and the team you will work with. These aspects turn out to not be true. And if you join and suggest changes, HR will not listen to you or make the changes you want to see happen very difficult to implement due to senior management ruling over them with an iron fist. -Hours: God forbid you try to leave early or show up late. Your hours are being tracked like a hawk and Argo will make sure you are there for the allotted required time. Welcome to the slavery show your shackles will be unchained once you verify what you did every 30 minutes of every hour of every day. -Turnover: People quit this company all the time. I have seen it constantly in a year. And it isn’t people quitting after 5 years looking for something new, it is people quitting after a few months to less than a year, which is very telling. Avoid this company at all costs. Their practices are outdated, HR will be unfair to you, and your job will be boring having you question what the point of your role here is. There are way better company options for college grads and any other people seeking full time work. Do not settle for this company.

Pros

- Prestigious customers (300 banks, top 7 financial institutions...) - Profitable business - Lots of cash

Cons

Did you hear terrible company with terrible leadership? It is worse. MANAGEMENT: - Adverse, very hostile environment - Unprofessional at best - CEO is bully, full of hatred, and insults people - Aggressive or discriminatory language - Senior management is toxic, terribly negative, distrustful on everything, and only able to harshly criticize - Manipulative, unfriendly, and deceitful - Management by fear; execs display discontent for everything - Senior management fosters divisiveness between employees - Senior management never listen, stuck in their ways , unable to get the Big Picture - CEO and top execs are extremely resistant to change. Despite assertions, change is not welcome - CEO makes constantly erratic (and wrong) decisions, creates chaos and exacerbates problems - Micro-management is general - Brutal top down management - Unrealistic deadlines, idealistic expectations - Little concern for employees BUSINESS: - Senior management is completely out of touch - they live in the 80's at best. They don't know how to drive a business today - No direction but the expectation to "fix" problems that have been in place for as long as the company has been around - Sales pipeline is nearly empty - Old banking software, outdated technology (no Cloud) EARNINGS: - Very high insurance costs - Mediocre benefits - No bonuses - No career advancement and growth - No WFH, no remote COLLEAGUES: - VERY HIGH turnover, management doesn’t care - Three managers just left in a single month! - Not unusual to hear extremely negative comments (both personal and professional) from management about other people - Everyone walks on egg shells and tries to stay off the radar - Very political, different opinions not welcome - Extremely limited collaboration - The office is as quiet as a grave - Empty floors, empty cubicles - Low morale You will not gain any value by working at ARGO. Stay away.

Real Warning

Pros

Co-workers who work unbelievably hard for bad management

Cons

I could not have imagined how truly awful this place is. I read the reviews before I accepted the job, and discounted them. If you learn one thing from this review – believe the bad reviews. Unless you plan to move to North Korea you likely will never experience what occurs in this company. Warning – they get you to join by painting a great picture during the interview process. Even peers will seem positive during the process, but notice that most times a representative from HR is in the room (because they are watching and critiquing the interviewer). Surely it won’t happen to you right? Wrong! You could be a super star performer at every previous employer – here you will be the slime on the bottom of the executive management shoes. Seriously, you will be yelled at – frequently. Being told you are a “f’ing idiot” and incompetent is a real thing here. You will never meet expectation of management or acknowledged for your work – ever. Save yourself the trouble and don’t expect any form of appreciation – nothing can be done well enough, quick enough and you will be told repeatedly what a bad job you are doing. As far as being treated as a professional – forget about it. From yelling at you, to swearing at you and personal insults to being tracked by the minute, this is beyond business control. If for example you are working on an implementation and have to stay until 2:00 am, you better be back in the office at 8:00 am or you will be expected to take vacation time. I frequently saw team members have 55 hours logged by Friday at noon and leave at 3:00pm and have to take a half day vacation. 1. You will never – never get a raise! 2. There are no bonuses – ever, don’t believe that lie. 3. You will not advance in position, you may take on the work but you WILL NOT be recognized or rewarded. 4. There is no help once you are inside the organization. This company is independently owned by a twisted individual who doesn’t care or believe in any employee motivation, recognition or attempt to retain anyone. Companies like this should not exist in the US. We should be entitled to basic decency and professionalism. If you care about yourself, sleep on the streets before you compromise your sanity and take a job here.
