Pros

A lot of the reviews previously published are interesting to read, I myself have a different point of view. ARGO is place where you can start out as a programmer fresh out of college and quickly rise to management. It's up to YOU to manage your career path and I feel like I was given plenty of opportunity to showcase both my technical and soft skills. It is a busy place with a ton of work to do, but they definitely leave it up to you to take the initiative to make a move up. I think that some of the previous posters have a entitlement mentality that makes me wonder if they post the same review at each job they "try out". If you want to join a place where you want your career in your own hands, ARGO is a good place. If you prove worthy, you can determine when and what your promotion will be. But the mgt won't baby you, they don't have time. It is up to you to showcase yourself.

Cons

ARGO, when compared to other companies in the area, is thriving. That means they are BUSY. If you do want to move up, then don't assume you can just work 40 hours a week. Also, the high turnover is frustrating because a lot of knowledge walks out the door which puts additional strain on those left.

Pros

Opportunities to gain valuable experience. Stable company that is privately owned. Good working conditions. Nice location. Covered parking. Some managers are excellent. HR is improving review processes. Under achievers and negative employees don't last long.

Cons

It is difficult to exceed expectations and get a decent raise. Because expectations are so high, a high-achiever is just doing his job here, but would be considered exceeding at other companies. Employees can become disillusioned when they cannot get a decent raise.

I've been warned; and it is worse by far!

Pros

- Prestigious customers (300 banks, top 7 financial institutions...) - Profitable business - Lots of cash

Cons

Did you hear terrible company with terrible leadership? It is worse. MANAGEMENT: - Adverse, very hostile environment - Unprofessional at best - CEO is bully, full of hatred, and insults people - Aggressive or discriminatory language - Senior management is toxic, terribly negative, distrustful on everything, and only able to harshly criticize - Manipulative, unfriendly, and deceitful - Management by fear; execs display discontent for everything - Senior management fosters divisiveness between employees - Senior management never listen, stuck in their ways , unable to get the Big Picture - CEO and top execs are extremely resistant to change. Despite assertions, change is not welcome - CEO makes constantly erratic (and wrong) decisions, creates chaos and exacerbates problems - Micro-management is general - Brutal top down management - Unrealistic deadlines, idealistic expectations - Little concern for employees BUSINESS: - Senior management is completely out of touch - they live in the 80's at best. They don't know how to drive a business today - No direction but the expectation to "fix" problems that have been in place for as long as the company has been around - Sales pipeline is nearly empty - Old banking software, outdated technology (no Cloud) EARNINGS: - Very high insurance costs - Mediocre benefits - No bonuses - No career advancement and growth - No WFH, no remote COLLEAGUES: - VERY HIGH turnover, management doesn’t care - Three managers just left in a single month! - Not unusual to hear extremely negative comments (both personal and professional) from management about other people - Everyone walks on egg shells and tries to stay off the radar - Very political, different opinions not welcome - Extremely limited collaboration - The office is as quiet as a grave - Empty floors, empty cubicles - Low morale You will not gain any value by working at ARGO. Stay away.
