Pros

Great benefits: have great benefits package with medical insurance and retirement plan. Lots of opportunities for growth: great facilities, lots of equipment and access to great technology, academic environment so people are very willing to help and train and teach, collaborative environment, Vibrant environment: University environment with leading researchers in many different fields, so there is great exposure to different ideas and high caliber people.

Cons

Salaries are very low. Different labs have different culture, therefore need to get used to different environments and management styles. Employees have to pay for parking.
