      Pros

      The people around you are great and can become good friends. The atmosphere and the culture is nice. Biodesign is about collaboration. I learned a lot and people really take their time off to get you up to speed.

      Cons

      Biodesign is supposed to be about collaboration but I never see any collaboration or even consultation between different centers. There not much cons besides this. Look to always be on top of your game as their are constant lab meetings, presentations, etc.

      Pros

      Tuition reduction, continued educational training, awesome benefits plans, good retirement system. Working on the Main campus was always interesting and exciting. There was always something going on. Gammage Auditorium always has interesting Broadway plays throughout the year. Many incentives throughout the year to encourage working at ASU and thanking employees. The many positive aspects of working for ASU override the negative ones.

      Cons

      Hiring freezes occur often, raises occur rarely - few and far between. You need to leave the University or department in order to potentially get a raise.
